Finally, a word on Guccio Gucci and his turbulent life. Born in Florance to parents who ran a small hat company, Gucci left Italy for London when he was 17. There Guccio found employment at the high-class Savoy Hotel as a dishwasher. Gucci would later be promoted to a waiter position, where he would get his first taste of the fashion and behaviours of the rich and the nobility.
